About Me

Dhruva Mathur was born on 25th April in New Delhi. He did his schooling in Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Vadodara and Mumbai. He presently lives in Mumbai and is an undergrad hoping to graduate with double majors in Economics and Political Science. While in Vadodara, he started taking writing seriously when he had to make a Radio Play as part of an English project. Though he had done some writing before that but that experience of writing the play made it fascinating for him. Thus he began writing.

Earlier he dealt with topics like student life but soon he started finding politics interesting and that became his favourite topic. His articles on politics deal with India and the impact of events on it. However he did not try his hand at poetry till he was twelve. Once during a free lecture, he started scribbling on his notebook and soon words started flowing out of his pen.

From that day on he has never looked back. He has written one unpublished fiction book and is writing another which he hopes to get published. Poetry has always interested him and he loves to read poetry written by new writers, however, the poetry, The Frog and The Nightingale by Vikram Seth remains his favourite. When free he prefers to write poetries and even maintains a notebook for it.

He has written over two plays and one radio skit. All of them have also been directed and presented by him in college. His poems have evoked mixed responses and are known for their sensitive content. People have commended him on his use of similes. Half of all the poems that he writes are influenced by real life incidences.

Besides writing he loves to take part in political discussions and debates. He has been part of many a twitter campaign. Due to his keen interest in politics he decided to start a political blog which is hosted at http://dhruva-mathur.blogspot.com/
